Taking all the pain away with the wave of a hand ...

I was told by psychics for years that I had healing abilities, but I didnt want to take it on board. I was working as a civil servant and I enjoyed my job. Then, after a car accident I went for a couple of healing sessions myself. There was one healer whom I trusted and developed a rapport with and subsequently began training with him. While I was being trained I needed to practise on clients.

The first person I worked with was a 72 year-old lady who suffered from arthritis in her knees and couldnt climb stairs. I suggested she give the healing a go. She told me that she was in such pain she would try anything. I worked on her for three days in a row, for half an hour each day. A couple of days later the ladys daughter arrived with flowers for me, saying her mother was now able to take the stairs. The next time I saw the lady she was walking like a little girl. I thought to myself Ive definitely found what I want to do, and Im going to do it, no matter what it takes.

Word spread after that and more clients arrived. I gave up my job and concentrated fully on healing, and I continued my training, including a spiritual healing course in England.

There are different classifications of healer spiritual healer, reiki healer, bio-energy healer. I simply call myself healer because I believe healing is a mixture of all those. Healing comes to some of us more easily than others. For example, my granny had, what they call in Galway, the gift of raising the Cleithin. People used to come to her from all over Ireland to ask her to help if they had a blockage in the chest area. People visited her only once and reported feeling well afterwards. She didnt take money for her services because it was a gift. The reality for me is that its my full time job so I must charge. Id be willing to work for nothing if the bank manager tells me I dont have to pay my mortgage!

The truth is if I won the lotto in the morning, Id still be a healer. I love my work so much I end up working even when Im on holidays. I dont even have to touch the client. I move my hands in a circular motion a couple of inches from the persons body. What I am doing is releasing the trapped energy and balancing the persons aura. As well as working on a diagnosed health problem or blockage with a client, I can also sense if a person has an emotional trauma, stress or allergy.

A parent brought their 16-year-son to me, who suffered from arthritis. As I worked on him I kept hearing the word coke in my head. I wondered if he had an allergy to coke and asked him to stay off the drink for two months. After two sessions and no coke his arthritis was cured. I believe that the voice I heard was my spiritual guides, angels, whatever you want to call them. I think that we all have spirit friends out there to help us- its just a question of being open to accepting that help when its given. So, at the beginning of every session I privately ask my guides to help with the healing process.

Im aware that people often turn to the healer for help as a last resort. They may have exhausted all other medical options, but thats okay. I have worked on children and adults of all ages. People come back to me with ailments such as severe back pain, asthma and migraine. Ive helped alleviate pain in patients suffering from a variety of chronic illnesses.

I love the sceptics. Theyre such a challenge. They dont believe that I can help them but yet they desperately want to be helped. For me, its fascinating, because something always happens in the session to make them change their mind. Its like the universe is saying okay, you dont believe that your body can heal itself or that this woman can help? Well, well see about that!
